What's New

2/2/2008

I'm currently hard at work on my next novel. It's working title is "Stranded" and it's about two American women (Rachel & Danielle) who find themselves stranded in the jungles of Venezuela. I'm hoping it will hit the stores by spring of 2009. In the meantime, I'll post my progress here. Chances are looking very good that "The Last Train Home" will be reprinted and available again sometime this year or early next year.

I always lament the lack of readers of historical fiction. I love to write it and I love to read it, but, sadly, it doesn't sell when compared to contemporary romance. Why is that?

I'm considering attending Women's Week in P-Town again this year. It was great to interact with readers and see so many writers who have become good friends over the years. When my plans firm up, I'll post them on my Appearances page.

Finally, some of you have asked why I don't have a page dedicated to "Hard Times" the way I do my other novels. The answer is simple. In order to incorporate that book into the design of the site, some re-work needs to happen. I haven't been interested in doing that, but that could change in 2008. For now, the book is just as important as the rest, I'm simply at my knowledge limit with regard to web design.

The What's New page has been updated with two author appearances in 2007.

12/23/2006

I will be attending the Xena Con in Burbank in January. I'm not sure whether I'll be bringing books, but I will be available for autographs at some point. Contact me for more information. Unbreakable is currently at the printer and will hopefully be available very soon!

For a sneak peak at what you'll get if you purchase Undercover Tales, check out Quicksand.

Finally! A few weeks ago I've finished my newest story. It's a little longer than I originally intended at 290 pgs, but I'm pleased with the results. I still haven't settled on a title. I'm toying with "Ball & Chain." But that's not turning my crank at the moment. I will be submitting it to my publisher by the end of the year.

10/6/2006

Still working on my new story. I think I've selected "Unchained" as my title. But that's still subject to change. I've just hit 200 page mark. As you can see, I'm proceeding at a snail's pace. I still hope, however, to finish the story by the end of the year. As always, thanks for your very positive emails and encouragement. I haven't shopped this one to particular publisher, but that will likely change in the near future. It's likely that I'll be seeking input on the tale from some readers first, however. More on that soon.

Unbreakable should be available with its new publisher (Spinster's Ink) sometime this month. Look for it at your favorite online or brick and mortar bookstore.

I do have one bit of fun news. Unbreakable won a GCLS Literary Award in the "Romance" category. What a lovely surprise!

2/17/2006

What am I working on nowadays? Well, I've written about 80 pages of a story of where the lead characters meet in prison. The drama/romance is untitled as of yet and it's a toss up as to whether it will end up as a novella or full-length novel. Though it's shaping up to be the latter. I don't have firm goal for completion in mind, but my best guess is that I'll finish sometime in the summer of 2006. The lead character's names are Lorna and Kelly. For some reason, I'm finding myself tempted to change Kelly's name to something else. Any suggestions? Stay tuned!

2/16/2006

I'm pleased to announce that a second edition of Unbreakable has been signed to Spinsters Ink for publication in early summer 2006.

June 8-10 I will be attending the GCLS 2006 Literary Convention in Atlanta Georgia. I'm scheduled as a panelist and I'll be signing autographs and selling books during the convention. I hope to see you there!

2/15/2006

Unbreakable has been selected as a finalist in the romance category for a 2006 GCLS Literary Award. I'm honored to be in the company of so many talented writers. Results will be announced during the GCLS Literary Convention.

Undercover Tales

Drama/Mystery/Lesbian Romance, Published by Bookends Press, June 2005, 309 pages

Purchase Undercover Tales

Undercover Tales is a trilogy of complimentary works penned by three authors with very distinctive styles. Stories range from melt-the-pages erotica, to humor-laced romance, to twist-filled adventure... all with a touch of mystery.

From Blayne Cooper, author of Unbreakable, The Last Train Home, Madam President, and many others, comes Quicksand, a story about sinking into trouble so deep, there’s no way out. Deceit, betrayal, and resisting sexual temptation were never part of private investigator Belinda Blaisdell’s daily life. Until now.

KG MacGregor, author of Shaken, The House on Sandstone, and Malicious Pursuit, presents Stolen Souls is the tale of Vonne Maglio, who signs on for a two-week vacation at a working ranch in the Colorado canyons. Nothing at Sky Ranch is as it seems–but then, neither is Vonne.

SX Meagher, author of I Found My Heart In San Francsico, contributes Narc. The dark side of Chicago is a cauldron of crime. Drugs, sex, blackmail, bribery and corruption so deep you can swim in it. And that's just the cops. How does an honest detective wade through this muck to do her job?

6/10/2005

I'm pleased to announce that The Last Train Home is now available for purchase at Amazon.com in novel or ebook format.

Edits and tweaks are finally complete and my newest novel, Undercover Tales, a trilogy of stories written by Blayne Cooper, KG MacGregor and SX Meagher, has been sent to the printer! Books should be available for purchase through Starcrossed Productions in July 2005. Come back soon for more ordering information. This novel will make its debut at the GCLS Convention in New Orleans at the end of June 2005. Co-author KG MacGregor will be on hand to sign autographs.

4/27/2005

Good news! Sales of Unbreakable have been excellent. The initial printing is almost sold out. But don't worry, more books are being printed and there will be no interruption in reader's ability to purchase the novel. A big thank you to everyone who has supported my work by buying this book.

4/25/2005

Book reviews for Unbreakable, The Story of Me, Castaway, Cobb Island, and Echoes From the Mist, have been added.

I'm also thrilled to pass along the news that two terrific works from one of my favorite authors will coming back into print! PD Publishing will be republishing D.Jordan Redhawk's Tiopa Ki Lakota and Warlord Metal this fall.

4/24/2005

My apologies. I've been remiss about updating my new site because I've been knee-deep in a story. The good news is that I have several bits of information to share.

First, I've recently completed an exciting project and my latest story entitled Quicksand. This novella will be one of three stories housed under the same cover called Undercover Tales. I'm proud to be sharing space in this book with the very talented SX Meagher and KG MacGregor. We expect Undercover Tales to be available for purchase sometime this summer. The sizzling hot new cover should be up soon. So keep your eyes peeled!

Second, Telltale Kisses the lesbian anthology with an all-star writing cast, contains a new story by me called The Important Things. This tale was my first attempt at writing in the first person and is, surprisingly, one of my personal favorites. The book is available for purchase at Starcrossed Productions. All profits from the sale of this title go to charity.

Third, cool news! Unbreakable has been choosen by SapphFire as their book of the month for April.

Finally, look for me to add a handful of book reviews in the near future. As always, I value your support and feedback. So feel free to write me and share your thoughts on one of my tales.

Welcome to my new website. This is the section where I'll do my best to keep readers informed about my progress on stories/books and other projects. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Stephanie Solomon-Lopez for her website design and Ali Carpenter for hosting my work for the past five years. Both of these women are great friends and their generosity was appreciated.

Unbreakable is now available for purchase!
